Aims and Scope

Communications in Partial Differential Equations aims to publish high quality papers concerning any mathematical aspect of partial differential equations. Appropriateness of the topic of any article for this journal is subject to the discretion of the editors.

Submission of Manuscripts

Please submit your manuscript by e-mail to both Editors: Rafe Mazzeo (Stanford University; cpde@math.stanford.edu) and P. E. Souganidis (University of Texas, Austin; cpde@math.utexas.edu). It is preferable to send a compiled version, in PS or PDF format, as an attachment. Please do not also send paper copies.

The manuscript should be prepared in one of the standard versions of TeX, preferably Latex2e; the typeface size should be 10 pt., with margin size one inch on all sides. An abstract of no more than 100 words should be supplied. If the manuscript is accepted for publication, the TeX source file will eventually have to be submitted.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork and photographs become the property of the publisher.

Please use one of the standard TeX bibliography packages.

Illustrations, Tables and Figures:

For the TeX source file, tables and figures should be prepared with TeX and embedded in the text when possible. All other illustrations should be prepared at 300dpi or higher resolution and saved in EPS, TIFF or PSD format only.

Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in their printing and publication. The charge for the first page with color is $900.00. The next three pages with color are $450.00 each. A custom quote will be provided for color art totaling more than 4 journal pages. Good-quality color prints or files should be provided in their final size. The publisher has the right to refuse publication of color prints deemed unacceptable. Be sure that every figure has a brief descriptive legend and that every table has a concise title.

Page Proofs:

Proofs will be e-mailed to authors when the issue in which the manuscript is to appear is being prepared. All proofs must be corrected and returned to the publisher in a timely fashion, according to instructions sent with them at that time. Authors will also be asked to fill out and submit copyright forms at this time.

Each author of the article will receive a PDF file of the article itself. The corresponding author is responsible for the distribution of these to co-authors. Additional reprints of an individual article may be ordered from Taylor & Francis by using the reprint order form included with page proofs.
