Aims and Scope:

Archives of Animal Nutrition covers the biochemical and physiological basis of animal nutrition with emphasis laid on: protein and acid metabolism, energy transformation, mineral metabolism, vitamin metabolism, nutritional effects and performance criteria. It furthermore deals with recent developments in practical animal feeding, feedstuff theory, mode of action of feed additives, feedstuff preservation and feedstuff processing.

1. Introduction

It is essential that authors prepare their manuscripts according to established specifications. Failure to follow them may result in your paper being delayed and the effectiveness of the search capabilities offered by electronic delivery will depend upon the care used by authors in preparing their manuscripts. Therefore, contributors are strongly encouraged to read these instructions carefully before preparing a manuscript for submission, and to check the manuscript for compliance with these notes before submitting it for publication.

2. Submitting a Paper to Archives of Animal Nutrition

Papers for consideration should be sent to the editor, Prof. Dr Ortwin Simon:

Freie Universität Berlin
Institut für Tierernährung
FB Veterinärmedizin
Brümmerstraße 34
D-14195 Berlin

Electronic submissions should be sent as email attachments using a standard word processing program, such as MSWORD or PDF. If email submission is not possible, please send an electronic version on disk along with three paper copies together with one set of high quality figures for reproduction.

When the accepted paper is submitted in final form, please send the editor one paper copy and a copy on disk including text and tables (indicate software and version used) - see Electronic Processing.

Please make sure your contact address information is clearly visible on the outside of all packages you are sending to Editors.

3. General Guidelines

Archives of Animal Nutrition considers all manuscripts on the strict condition that they have been submitted only to Archives of Animal Nutrition, that they have not been published already, or that they under consideration for publication or in press elsewhere. Authors who fail to adhere to this condition will be charged with all costs which Archives of Animal Nutrition incurs and their papers will not be published.

Contributions to Archives of Animal Nutrition must report original research and will be subjected to review by referees.

There are a limited number of colour pages within the annual page allowance. Authors should restrict their use of colour to situations where it is necessary on scientific, and not merely cosmetic, grounds.
