Librarians' Newsletter- September
07
Welcome to Issue 7 of the
Taylor & Francis Group
Librarians’ Newsletter.
Since the last newsletter,
Taylor & Francis has transferred all librarians formerly
using the MetaPress platform to access journal content to the
new informaworld™ platform. Details on
the effect this change has had on linking to our content can
be found below. Transferring journal customers was the first
step in the transition of Taylor & Francis content
to informaworld™.
Details on changes for eBook and encyclopedia customers will
be circulated in due course.
Taylor & Francis
became the first publisher to sign up to Project Transfer
spearheading the implementation of a set of industry standards
which can be applied when a journal moves between publishers
with the aim of ensuring continuity of access for journal
readers.
Within the wider library
community, we take a look at the architecture of the Sackler
Library, a new addition to the Oxford Library landscape, and
the impact the library’s design has on librarians’ and
readers’ experiences. We also feature an interview with Paul
Gorman, a librarian at Glasgow Metropolitan College, in which he
shares his views on changing demands from library users, and
how his library seeks to meet these demands.
Readers also have the
opportunity to win a prize by participating in our Librarian’s
Newsletter quiz.
