General Permission Requests

Image: Permissions

Taylor & Francis has developed a system that enables us to grant permission instantly via Rightslink.

To make use of this facility log on to: www.tandfonline.com, select the required content, and click on the 'request permission' link provided.

Permission can also be obtained from Taylor & Francis by sending your request in writing or emailing permissionrequest@tandf.co.uk. We will be delighted to help with your request but please note that we currently have a backlog of approximately 5 weeks so using the Rightslink system may be a more efficient route for you.

Author Permissions

Permissions are granted to authors, without a fee, for the use of their own content to be republished in another publication of which they are also the author/editor. We do record where content has been re-used and so require authors to obtain permission for the following:

Authors' requests for publishing material on their own website

If authors wish to use their article on their own website, on their institution's intranet, or within the Institutional Repository of their institution or company of employment they may do so, but the following embargo periods apply:

  • 18 months from the publication date for Social Science & Humanities content
  • 12 months from the publication date for Science & Technology content

Prior to this authors can only use their pre-print work (this is the version originally submitted before peer review). Authors are never allowed to use the final PDF.

Authors requesting to use their own work in 3rd party publications prior to publication in T&F journals

Unfortunately we are unable to grant this as the information will be readily available before it has been published in our journal.
