Aims & Scope

Science & Technology Libraries is a peer-reviewed, scholarly journal covering all aspects of our profession as librarians serving science, engineering, clinical investigation, and agriculture.  It best serves this purpose by publishing the refereed papers of some of our most successful colleagues working at some of the most distinguished institutions around the world, as well as the vetted manuscripts of those new professionals whose insights demonstrate that their careers among us are on the ascendant.  Our content is overwhelmingly composed of original research articles and reports of best practices in which some significant way, further the understanding and management of information resources in our area of competence in relation to their intended audience.  

Each issue of Science & Technology Libraries also includes:

  • Profiles in Science -- A survey of the life, times, career and publication patterns of a distinguished scientist, engineer, clinical investigator or agricultural expert
  • Reviews of Science for Science Librarians -- Extensive overviews of a development in science, engineering, clinical investigation or agriculture that bears watching by our profession
Science & Technology Libraries examines issues of everyday importance including:
  • Descriptions and analyses of the information needs of emerging sciences and technologies
  • comparison of features, coverage and costs of new information products
