Aims & Scope

Victims & Offenders is a new peer reviewed journal that provides an international and interdisciplinary forum of research, outcome studies, and evidence-based policies and practices on victimization, victim assistance, offender rehabilitation and treatment, and restorative justice. The aim is to expand knowledge by publishing articles related to victim and offender theories, research, and practices. Each quarterly issue will examine quantitative and qualitative original research on violence-related victimization, victim services and domestic violence intervention as well as juvenile and adult offender treatment and rehabilitation programs. Special emphasis will be given to evidence-based studies ranging from randomized controlled trials to expert consensus panels to qualitative studies.

Call for Papers:

We invite all scholars and practitioners to submit articles that include data-driven assessments, evidence-based studies, quasi-experimental studies, qualitative research, and review essays measuring the effectiveness of interventions with crime victims as well as convicted offenders. We have a special interest in research and theory articles that focus on both victims and offenders, and the interconnections between victims and offenders such as victim-offender mediation, restitution, and restorative justice. Another neglected area that will be focused on in the new journal is the research.

Types of articles: quantitative and qualitative research articles, meta-analyzes, evidence-based studies, practice-based research, forensic assessment protocols, review essays, and book and media reviews on former child victims who become offenders, the etiology of crime and delinquency, restorative justice, as well as the intergenerational cycle of juvenile and adult offenders.

Peer Review Policy:

All research articles in this journal have undergone initial editorial screening and rigorous peer review.
