Aims & Scope

Advances in Physiotherapy is an international forum for discussions on the science, art, identity and legitimacy of the profession and discipline, within a broad health and social care context.

The editors aim to create a scientific arena that will be instrumental in shaping and providing direction to physiotherapy by:

  • Analysing and debating research in the light of its consequences on physiotherapy
  • Contrasting different research perspectives on essential phenomena and questioning traditional paradigms
  • Challenging and developing theoretical models
  • Evaluating and criticizing interventions
  • Discussing educational and professional issues of physiotherapy

The goal of Advances in Physiotherapy is to maintain a broad and interdisciplinary approach in order to reflect the actual collaboration between physiotherapists, practitioners and scholars from other disciplines.
