Aims & Scope
The New Review of Academic Librarianship is an international publication designed to explore the wide range of issues of current concern to academic libraries: collections and collections management; support for teaching and learning (including e-learning) and research; developments in library buildings and space; deployment of information and communications technology (particularly in the integration of library and other functions); human resources management (including training and development, workforce planning, mentoring, succession planning, etc.); financial management (including solutions to budgetary challenges posed by new publishing media and packages); information literacy; national and international policy on library and information provision and higher education; marketing (including user studies and promotion); conservation and preservation and collaboration and co-operation (including resource sharing).
Particular interests at present are:
- institutional repositories and the place of the library
- new developments in library space planning and utilisation
- electronic procurement, management and use
- changing roles of the librarian
- new areas of collaboration and resource sharing
- user (research and learner) information seeking behaviour
- cross-sectoral initiatives
