Chronobiology International is the journal of biological and medical rhythm research. It is a transdisciplinary journal focusing on biological rhythm phenomena of all life forms. It is the major forum of communications for and among chronobiologists. The journal publishes groundbreaking articles on genetic and molecular mechanisms of biological timekeeping; melatonin and pineal gland rhythms; the chronobiology and chronotherapy of sleep, cardiovascular, pulmonary, and other medical conditions; applied areas such as shift work; plus authoritative review papers, short communications of work in progress, case studies, and letters to the editor. Articles in the journal pertain to basic and applied chronobiology, and to methods, statistics, and instrumentation for biological rhythm study.
Chronobiology International is the official journal of the International Society for Chronobiology, the American Association for Medical Chronobiology and Chronotherapeutics, and the Society for Light Treatment and Biological Rhythms. The journal is published bimonthly in English.
