Local Government Studies is the leading journal for the study of the politics, administration and management of local affairs. The journal publishes articles which contribute to the better understanding and practice of local government and which are of interest to scholars, policy analysts, policymakers and practitioners. The focus of the journal is on the critical analysis of developments in local governance throughout the world. The editors particularly welcome studies of issues related to European local government. Local Government Studies provides a unique forum for the consideration of all issues related to sub-national levels of government.
Peer Review
All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and reviewing by two anonymous referees. All articles published in the journal' special issues and themed sections are also subject to the same editorial and double-blind refereeing process.
