Aims & Scope

Social Dynamics is the Centre for African Studies in-house journal, which has been published bi-annually since 1975. It is committed to publishing academic research, fostering debate and addressing current issues across a range of disciplines.

Articles cover the full range of humanities and social sciences including economics, sociology and anthropology, politics, history, literary and language studies, music, archaeology, education and psychology.

Social Dynamics is an accredited, peer-reviewed journal that runs special focus issues and offers book reviews. Articles appearing in Social Dynamics are indexed in the Social Science Citation Index and other abstract and index services. The journal is edited by a distinguished academic at UCT and has received international recognition as a leading Africanist publication.
