The Institute of Scientific Information Journal Citations Report for 2005 ranks the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis 29th out of 83 journals in Clinical Psychology (social science) and 35th out of 77 journals in Psychiatry (social science), with an Impact Factor of 1.551.

The International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis publishes only original research and clinical papers dealing with hypnosis and psychology, psychiatry, the medical and mental specialities, and allied areas of science. Submissions include clinical and experimental studies, discussions of theory, significant historical and cultural material, and questions for inclusion in the Clinical Forum. It is the purpose of this Journal to present in an integrated manner the best research in scientific hypnosis and to encourage and support continued inquiry.
