The Australian Psychologist is the official applied practice and public policy journal of the Australian Psychological Society. As such, the journal solicits articles covering current issues in psychology, the science and practice of psychology, and psychology's contribution to public policy, with particular emphasis on the Australian context.

Periodically, Australian Psychological Society documents, including but not limited to, position papers, reports of the Society, ethics information, surveys of the membership, announcements, and selected award addresses may appear in the journal.

Articles published cover all aspects of applied psychology. Submissions should be current, timely, and should be written in a style that is accessible and of interest to a broad range of psychologists. Australian Psychologist contributions often address national and international policy issues as well as topics relevant to Society policy and activities.

The journal regularly publishes special sections or special issues on particular topics. Proposals for special sections or issues should be submitted prior to developing the manuscripts, as described in the Instructions to Authors.

Readership

The journal is an essential resource for applied psychologists working in the Australian and international context as well as for interested clinicians who span the spectrum of clinical and applied psychology.

Peer Review Integrity

All research articles in this journal, including those in special issues, special sections or supplements, have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two independent referees.
