Patterns of Prejudice
Imagining Transatlantic Slavery and Abolition

Special Issue, July 2007

2007 is the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the British transatlantic slave trade. To mark this event, Dr John Oldfield (University of Southampton) has guest edited a special issue of Patterns of Prejudice which explores the relationship between history, memory and transatlantic slavery. Articles cover historical and contemporary examples, and concern all those geographical areas involved in transatlantic slavery, including Africa and the United States, which in 2008 will celebrate 200th anniversary of the abolition of the American transatlantic slave trade.
