EDITORIAL BOARD

The aim of Gender, Place and Culture is to provide a forum for debate in human geography and related disciplines on theoretically-informed research concerned with gender issues. It also seeks to highlight the significance of such research for feminism and women’s studies. Key concerns include:

  • geographical variations in gender divisions, gender relations and structures of oppression

  • the socio-cultural construction and the cultural politics of gender

  • the intersections between gender, ‘race’, ethnicity, nationality, sexuality, class, age and other social divisions in relation to space, place and nature.

In addition to full articles, the journal fosters debate and dialogue in its ‘Viewpoints’ section, which includes commentaries, discussions and other shorter pieces.

INCREASE TO FOUR ISSUES IN 1999

From 1999 Gender, Place and Culture is expanding to 4 issues a year, one of which will be a theme issue. In 1999, the theme issue will be 'On the Boundaries and Spaces of Feminist Geography.
