Comparative Education

EDITOR AND CHAIR

Professor Patricia Broadfoot, University of Bristol, UK

EDITORIAL BOARD AND
INTERNATIONAL ADVISORY BOARD

Comparative Education presents up-to-date analyses of significant educational problems and trends throughout the world. It seeks to publish articles which use a comparative approach to explore both the formation and implementation of policy and practices in teaching and learning. The journal welcomes contributions that reflect the growing international focus of educational debate, particularly as this is expressed in topics such as globalisation, internationalisation and regionalisation.

Within its comparative focus, the subject matter of the journal draws on a range of disciplines including, sociology, psychology, anthropology, history, policy studies, socio-cultural studies, educational management and economics. Articles which combine a rigorous methodological approach within a well-developed theoretical framework are particularly welcome.

Over 34 years Comparative Education’s editorial policy and presentation have evolved to match world developments and the changing concerns of those active in education or involved in its finance, management and wider implications. Its readership has evolved too as comparative studies of education have attracted the attention of political leaders, the commercial/industrial world, and parents and voters, as well as academics interested in different aspects of education. Comparative studies are now an area of major international interest and Comparative Education is dedicated to meeting this interest with the provision of high quality, rigorous and relevant research and analysis.
