The Bulletin of Hispanic Studies is a learned review dedicated to research into the languages, literatures, histories and civilizations of Spain, Portugal and Latin America. Founded in 1923 by the influential British Hispanist E. Allison Peers, it soon established an international reputation, and is now recognised world wide as one of the front-ranking journals in the field of Hispanic scholarship. For many years, the Bulletin was edited at the University of Liverpool where editors included Albert Sloman, Geoffrey Ribbans, Dorothy S. Severin and Ann L. Mackenzie. In 1995, following a unanimous decision by the Editors and their Editorial Committee of Advisers, the journal was relocated to the University of Glasgow. Special Issues planned for publication in 1998-99 include an issue dedicated to Translation Studies in Hispanic Contexts (edited by Nicholas G. Round, University of Sheffield, UK), an issue on Film Studies (edited from the University of Oxford, UK), and one on the modern history of Valencia (edited by Paul Preston, LSE, UK and Ismael Saz Campos, University of Valencia, Spain). Associated PublicationsFor many years, Bulletin of Hispanic Studies has produced Bibliographies of Articles (Review of Reviews). Latterly, these have taken the form of Special Supplements (HASP: Hispanic Articles in Scholarly Periodicals). Research Bibliographies of Hispanic Articles in Scholarly Periodicals 1945-1995 a major project funded by the Leverhulme Trust are nearing completion. These Bibliographies will be published as annual supplements to the Bulletin of Hispanic Studies. Hispanic Articles in Scholarly Periodicals 1945-1995, Vol. I, A-C will appear in 1998 and will form part of the annual subscription to the journal.
