Aims & ScopeAsian Studies Review adopts a contemporary approach to critical studies of Asia and welcomes new research in related disciplines. Areas covered include recent academic explorations in cultural studies, film and media studies, popular and youth cultures, queer studies, diasporic studies, transnational and globalisation studies, health sciences, and the environment. The journal is multidisciplinary and welcomes contributions in the fields anthropology, history, economics, politics, sociology, language and literature, philosophy, religion, human geography, international relations, gender and sexuality studies. Asian Studies Review also includes review articles and book reviews. Asian Studies Review is associated with the Asian Studies Association of Australia (www.asaa.asn.au), a professional organisation with over 500 members devoted to the study of all aspects of Asia.
