Instructions for AuthorsMANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION
Scandinavian Journal of Disability Research welcomes contributions from across the full range of social research disciplines. The journal has its focus on the relationship between persons with disabilities and their environments. The Journal welcomes articles from all countries. We invite researchers in the field of disability research to submit articles to the journal. Instructions to Authors: Language and form: Title page and abstract: The title page should contain the title of the article, full names of the authors and their institutional affiliations, key words, a running title not to exceed 60 characters, and the name and complete mailing address (including postal code), e-mail and telephone (and telefax, if any) numbers of the author responsible for correspondence. A separate abstract page should contain an abstract of less than 150 words. Abbreviations and terminology: Abbreviations should be held to a minimum. Names of groups, impairments, services and organisations should usually not be abbreviated. Authors should not use terminology that some people find offensive (except historical articles which can use the terminology of the period discussed). The journal does not have preferences with regard to current terminological debates, for instance whether “disabled people” is better than “people with disabilities”, nor the proper use of the impairment-disability-distinction. Do however notice that the term handicap is omitted from the WHO terminology. Authors do generally have an obligation to pay attention to terminological debates within social disability research.
