Instructions for Authors

Submission

Articles should be between 4000-6000 words. We no longer accept hard copy submissions either by paper or on disk. All submissions should be made online at the Journal of Strategic Marketing Manuscript Central site. New users should first create an account. Once a user is logged onto the site submissions should be made via the Author Centre.

Authors should prepare and upload two versions of their manuscript. One should be a complete text, while in the second all document information identifying the author should be removed from files to allow them to be sent anonymously to referees. When uploading files authors will then be able to define the non-anonymous version as “Complete Version with Author Details”.

Presentation
Contributions should be typed on A4 paper with double-line spacing and wide margins (at least 2.5cm). Each article should be presented as follows:

  • Title page: title, authors' names and addresses and the name, address, and telephone and fax numbers of the author to whom all correspondence concerning the article should be sent.
  • Second page: title, abstract of about 150 words and up to six keywords for indexing purposes.
  • Main body of the paper: presented as given below.

Tables and figures
Each should be numbered in the order in which they are referred to in the text and cited as Figure 1, Figuress 2--5, Table 1, Tables 1 and 2, etc.

Figures and tables should not be included in the text but accompany the manuscript on separate pages.

Figures should be originals (not photocopies), printed from a laser printer or drawn in black ink on white card. The size of any labelling should be sufficient to allow for reductions of up to 50%. Figure captions should be grouped together on a separate sheet.

Footnotes
These should not be used unless absolutely essential. If included they should be kept to a minimum, and numbered consecutively on separate sheets.

Copyright
It is a condition of publication that authors assign copyright or licence the publication rights in their articles, including abstracts, to Taylor & Francis. This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the Journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Authors retain many rights under the Taylor & Francis rights policies, which can be found at www.informaworld.com/authors_journals_copyright_position. Authors are themselves responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyright material from other sources.

Refereeing
All articles will be double-blind refereed, and comments will be communicated to the authors. Articles will only be accepted for publication when they have been modified in line with the referees' comments.

Proofs
Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author (unless otherwise specified) for correction. The author should return the proofs within 48 hours of receipt to avoid delay to publication. Extensive alterations which were not in the original manuscript are strongly discouraged.

Free article access
Corresponding authors will receive free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article. Reprints of articles published in this journal can be purchased through Rightslink® when proofs are received. If you have any queries, please contact our reprints department at reprints@tandf.co.uk
