Journal Details
Instructions for AuthorsAims and Scope. The purpose of this journal is to provide an international and interdisciplinary forum for all aspects of research related to polycyclic aromatic compounds (PAC). Topics range from fundamental research in chemistry (including synthetic and theoretical chemistry) and physics (including astrophysics), as well as thermodynamics, spectroscopy, analytical methods, and biology to applied studies in environmental science, biochemistry, toxicology, and industry. This journal is published in cooperation with the International Society for Polycyclic Aromatic Compounds.Submission of Manuscripts. Authors are strongly encouraged to submit manuscripts on disk. The disk should be prepared using MSWord orWordPerfect and should be clearly labeled with the authors' names, file name, and software program. The copies of the manuscript must exactly match the version supplied on disk. Please indicate complete addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses for all authors. Submit three copies to the Editor in Chief or any of the Topical Editors. All manuscripts must be accompanied by a signed copyright form.Preparation of Manuscripts. All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten and double-spaced. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of 100-150 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and references to the text within the abstract. Three to six keywords should be provided. The official language of the journal is English. Authors whose native language is not English are strongly advised to have their paper reviewed by a colleague who speaks English fluently before the final draft of the paper is typed. The editor and publisher cannot be responsible for correcting English grammar, spelling, and idioms. Equations must be typewritten with subscripts and superscripts clearly indicated. Identify unusual symbols in the margin. Metric units should be used. Each manuscript must be accomanied by a transmittal form and a copyright form. Both forms can be downloaded from http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/authors/gpolauth.asp. References. Are indicated in the text by superior numbers in the order in which they appear. The full list should be collected and typed on a seperate page at the end of the paper. Follow the format for scientific references listed in The Chicago Manual of Style, 14th ed., Chicago: University of Chicago Press. Examples: 1. Books: Keener, J. P. and J. Sneyd. 1998. Mathematical Physiology. New York: Springer Verlag. 2. Periodicals: Berridge, M. J., and A. Galione. 1988. Cytosolic calcium oscillators. FASEB Journal. 2:3074–3082 Tables and Figures. Tables and figures (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicro graphs, etc.) should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend, and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate page. All original figures should be clearly marked in pencil on the reverse side with the number, author's name, and top edge indicated, and should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:
