Instructions for AuthorsSubmission Free article access
Corresponding authors will receive free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article. Reprints of articles published in this journal can be purchased through Rightslink® when proofs are received. If you have any queries, please contact our reprints department at reprints@tandf.co.uk
Copyright Manuscript Authors should prepare and upload two versions of their manuscript. One should be a complete text, while in the second all document information identifying the author should be removed from files to allow them to be sent anonymously to referees. When uploading files authors will then be able to define the non-anonymous version as "File not for review". Please only submit files electronically via The Service Industries Journal Manuscript Central site as mentioned above and not in hard copy to either the editors or the publisher. Authors are asked to submit their articles according to the following instructions, as the editors will not undertake retyping of manuscripts prior to publication. Manuscripts must be double-spaced and with ample margins. Pages (including those containing only figures and tables) should be numbered consecutively. There is no standard length for articles but 5,000-6,000 words (including notes and references) is a useful target. The article title should not exceed fifteen words in length and must reflect the content of the article. The author's name or names should appear on the first page, in capitals and centred underneath the title. The author's affiliation with address, telephone and fax numbers and especially e-mail address, should appear in a footline on the first page. The affiliation and contact details of all authors must be provided. Acknowledgements, if any, should appear at the end of the article before the endnotes.
The article should begin with an indented and italicised summary of less than 100 words, which should describe the main arguments and conclusions of the article. Following the summary up to five key words should be noted (to aid electronic search engines in the future, should the paper be published). Style guidelines Description of the Journal's article style Description of the Journal's reference style, Quick guide Any consistent spelling style is acceptable.
