About Taylor & Francis Journals Online

Most Taylor & Francis Group journals are available online via informaworld™ at www.informaworld.com, the new online portal for all Taylor & Francis Group journals.

Access to our online journals is no longer available via MetaPress. As of April 14th, 2007, URLs which previously linked to content on the MetaPress site using the following formats: journalsonline.tandf.co.uk and taylorandfrancis.metapress.com have been mapped to their equivalent on the informaworld™ site, so users trying to access content using a link following this format will be seamlessly transferred to informaworld™ in perpetuity. For stability, we are advising our customers to update any links to Taylor & Francis Group content. For details, please see: www.informaworld.com/librarians_linkinginfo

URLs which link to Taylor & Francis content via www.metapress.com will continue to route to the MetaPress site for the next four weeks, after which time users will be redirected to informaworld™ for a limited period of time. If a library has links following this format in an OPAC, these will need to be updated.

Customers using Ingenta, EbscoHost EJS and Swetswise as a route to our content can continue to use these services.

Key Features

informaworld™ alerting services are popular features of the T&F online journals programme. Users can select to be alerted to new contents by keyword, individual titles or groups of journals (either by email or on their own tailored home page). For more information, visit www.informaworld.com/alerting

You do not need to be a subscriber to take advantage of this service

Active Reference Linking: all T&F online journals feature active reference links resolving to the final article online for T&F titles and those of participating publishers in the CrossRef project enabling access to a further 5,500 journals and nearly 4 million articles. Where the final article isn't available online we resolve to an appropriate external resource, such as the major abstracting and indexing databases

OPAC Links: We advise librarians to link their journal subscriptions to informaworld™. Library account administrators may download a list of informaworld™ URLs for titles to which their library holds a Taylor & Francis subscription from the 'Subscriptions' section of the 'My Account' area on informaworld™. This can be found at www.informaworld.com/controlpanel. Account administrators will need a username and password to be able to do this. We have contacted many of our account administrators with their login details, but if you believe you should have a username and password and have not yet received one, please use the feedback form at: www.informaworld.com/smpp/contactus_submit and provide us with your institution name, your email address and the account administrator for your institution.

We have also provided URLs to the main library content management companies, to enable librarians to update OPACs via a link resolver service from one of these providers. The list of companies to whom we have supplied URLs are as follows:

  • EBSCO (LinkSource)
  • Edinburgh University Data Library (EDINA)
  • Karger Libri
  • Openly Informatics (1CATE)
  • SerialsSolution (Article Linker)
  • SFX (Ex Libris)
  • TDNet (TOURresolver) - linking via CrossRef
  • OVID (LinkSolver): linking via CrossRef
  • Endeavor (LinkFinderPlus): updates via TDNet.
  • Sirsi Resolver: updates via SerialsSolution

Access Control and Verification

informaworld™ offers users the option of enabling either IP address or user name and password recognition. In order to check, add and amend your access controls, please visit www.informaworld.com/controlpanel, log in, and click on 'edit logins'. IP address ranges will then be verified before they will be recognised. You will need to have an institutional account administrator log in to carry out this process. If you require any help with please contact support@informaworld.com.

View the Terms and Conditions of Access. If you have any questions regarding these Terms and Conditions, please email ashleigh.bell@tandf.co.uk.
