AJC is philosophically committed to an eclectic approach to scholarship and the publication of articles of the highest quality, regardless of their type, orientation, or geographical origin. Contributions devoted to significant problems and issues in communication studies and of wide professional and scholarly interest are welcomed. All submitted manuscripts are screened for publication through a blind review process.
Manuscript Submission
Title Page:
A detachable title page should contain:(1) Title and author name(s); (2) complete mailing addresses for author(s), that include title(s), affiliation(s), mailing addresses(es), phone number(s), e-mail address(es), and fax number(s); (3) acknowledgments, such as grants that supported the research, research assistance, manuscript preparation assistance; and (4) information about the conference (organization, place, and date) if the manuscript has been previously presented as a convention paper.

Figures and Tables:
A note should be inserted in the text to indicate the approximate placement of each figure and table. Tables and figures should be used only when they are the most efficient ways of presenting data (e.g., conversational data, factor loadings, etc.) and should be kept to a minimum. Permissions: Authors are responsible for all statements made in their work and for obtaining permission from copyright owners to reprint or adapt a table or figure or to reprint a quotation of 500 words or more. Authors should write to original author(s) and publisher to request nonexclusive world rights in all languages to use the material in the article and in future editions. Provide copies of all permissions and credit lines.
Electronic Copy:
Once a manuscript has been accepted, authors will be required to submit an electronic copy of the manuscript on diskette. The diskette should be IBM compatible, the text should be saved in a standard format (e.g., WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, or RTF), and any tables and/or text-based figures should be saved in separate files.
Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:
- 300 dpi or higher
- EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
- sized to fit on journal page
- submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files
Manuscripts that are currently under consideration by another journal, or that have been published previously, in whole or in part, may not be submitted.
