Instructions for Authors

Manuscript Submission:

All submissions should be made online at the Journal of Change Management ScholarOne Manuscripts site. New users should first create an account. Once a user is logged onto the site submissions should be made via the Author Centre.

Authors should prepare and upload two versions of their manuscript. One should be a complete text, while in the second all document information identifying the author should be removed from files to allow them to be sent anonymously to referees. When uploading files authors will then be able to define the non-anonymous version as “File not for review”.

All contributions should be submitted electronically and must bear the author's full name and address, even if this is not for publication. Contributions, whether published pseudonymously or not, are accepted on the strict understanding that the author is responsible for the accuracy of all opinion, technical comment, factual report, data, figures, illustrations and photographs. Publication does not necessarily imply that these are the opinions of the Editorial Board, Editor or the Publisher, nor does the Board, Editor or Publisher accept any liability for the accuracy of such comment, report and other technical and factual information. The Publisher will, however, strive to ensure that all opinion, comments, reports, data, figures, illustrations and photographs are accurate, insofar as it is within its abilities to do so. The Publisher reserves the right to edit, abridge or omit material submitted for publication.

The author bears the responsibility for checking whether material submitted is subject to copyright or ownership rights, e.g. photographs, illustrations, trade literature and data. Where use is so restricted, the Editor must be informed with the submission of the material.

No contribution will be accepted which has been published elsewhere, unless it is expressly invited or agreed by the Editor. Articles and contributions published become the copyright of the Publisher, unless otherwise agreed.

All reasonable efforts are made to ensure accurate reproduction of text, photographs and illustrations. The Publisher does not accept responsibility for mistakes, be they editorial or typographical, nor for consequences resulting from them.

On acceptance for publication, authors will be requested to provide a copy of their article in exact accordance with the conventions listed in the preceding notes. If the final version of the article is not submitted in accordance with these conventions then publication may be delayed by the need to return manuscripts to authors for necessary revisions. Authors should note that, following acceptance for publication, they will be required to complete a Publishing Agreement form assigning copyright to the Publisher.

All articles submitted for publication will undergo rigorous peer review based upon an initial editorial screening followed by a minimum of double-blind peer review.

Article Submission

1) The Journal's Editor and Editorial Board particularly welcome submissions which present empirical research, conceptual articles and case studies.

2) All submissions must be original and should not be under consideration elsewhere.

3) Contributions should be between 4,000 and 6,000 words in length. All submissions should be Word processed and double spaced.

4) All submissions should be written in third person.

5) The author's personal details such as name, employer, address, phone number and email address should only be supplied on a separate document in order to facilitate anonymous reviewing.

6) All articles should be accompanied by a short abstract (up to 200 words) outlining its aims and subject matter.

7) All articles should be accompanied by up to five keywords.

8) All articles should be accompanied by a short (about 80 words) author(s) biography including a contact email address for each contributor.

9) Authors should not seek to use the Journal as a vehicle for marketing any specific product or service.

10) Authors should avoid the use of language or slang which is not in keeping with the professional and academic style of the Journal.

11) Titles of organizations etc should be written out first in full and thereafter in initials.

12) Authors must ensure that references to named people and/or organizations are accurate, not racist or sexist and without libellous implications.

References

Articles should be supported by references. References should be set out in accordance with the Harvard style - that is, they should be indicated in the text by the author's surname followed by the year of publication, both in brackets (eg Boyle, 1992) and then set out in full in a corresponding alphabetical list at the end of the text in the following form: [for journal articles] Author (year) 'Title of article', Journal name, Vol., No., pp,; [for books] Author (year) 'Title of chapter' in 'Editor' (ed), 'Book title', Publisher, place of publication.

Photographs and illustrations
Any photographs and illustrations supporting the article should be submitted where appropriate. Photographs should be good quality positives, printed from the original negatives and preferably in black and white only. Figures and other line illustrations should be submitted in good quality originals and a copy of the data should also be included.

Proofs
Page proofs will be sent for correction to a first-named author, unless otherwise requested. The difficulty and expense involved in making amendments at the page proof stage make it essential for authors to prepare their typescript carefully; any alteration to the original is strongly discouraged.

Free article access
Corresponding authors will receive free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article. Reprints of articles published in this journal can be purchased through Rightslink® when proofs are received. If you have any queries, please contact our reprints department at reprints@tandf.co.uk

Copyright

It is a condition of publication that authors assign copyright or licence the publication rights in their articles, including abstracts, to Taylor & Francis. This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the Journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Authors retain many rights under the Taylor & Francis rights policies, which can be found at www.informaworld.com/authors_journals_copyright_position. Authors are themselves responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyright material from other sources.
