Instructions for Authors
***Note to Authors: please make sure your contact address information is clearly visible on the outside of all packages you are sending to Editors.***
Submission: articles submitted to Conflict, Security & Development should be original pieces of work and should not be under consideration by any other publication. If the article has been submitted to another publication or has been published in another form, this information must be made known to the editor at the timeof submission. If the article is submitted to another publication after submission to Conflict, Security & Development, the author must make this fact known to the editor immediately. All articles will be reviewed by an editorial review board, which will notify potential authors within approximately 90 days of its decision. Manuscripts must be typewritten and double-spaced, and sent to the editor either electronically via e-mail (csdjournal@kcl.ac.uk) or on a high-density 3.5-inch diskette. Articles must be saved as Microsoft Word for Windows documents. All pages must be numbered consecutively.
Articles submitted for the ‘Analysis' section of the journal should be between 7,000 and 9,000 words, excluding endnotes. Review articles should be 4,000 words. All authors should include a short biography (50 words). In addition, an abstract (175 words) should be included with analysis pieces. Authors should also make known to the editor any extended travel plans and relevant contact details in the period between commissioning and the journal going to press. The author is responsible for obtaining permission for the use of any copyright materials that might appear in the manuscript. Confirmation of this should be stated in writing. The author will be sent a copyright form to sign closer to the date of publication.

References should be given in shortened form in an endnote, as follows:

A full version should be given in a list of references at the end of the article. Notes should be marked clearly in the text at the point of punctuation by superior numbers. More than one note at a single location should be combined to create a single note. The reference list should be alphabetical by surname, as follows:

Tables and figures: should be prepared on separate sheets using originals where possible; they should not be included within the text. The author(s) should indicate clearly in the margin of the paper where tables and figures are to be inserted. Each table and figure should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals with an appropriate caption (e.g. Table 1, Table 2; Figure 1, Figure 2, and so on). Permission to reproduce copyright material must be obtained by the author(s) prior to submission and any acknowledgements should be included either in the text or the caption as appropriate. A camera-ready copy of any tables and figures should be submitted in addition to those attached to the manuscripts.
Proofs: Authors are expected to correct and return proofs of accepted articles within 72 hours of receipt.
Early electronic offprints: Corresponding authors can receive 50 free reprints, free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article. Complimentary reprints are available through Rightslink® and additional reprints can be ordered through Rightslink® when proofs are received or alternatively on our journals website. If you have any queries, please contact our reprints department at reprints@tandf.co.uk. Additional copies of the journal can be purchased at the author's preferential rate of £15.00 per copy.
Copyright: It is a condition of publication that authors assign copyright or licence the publication rights in their articles, including abstracts, to the Conflict, Security and Development Group This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the Journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Authors may, of course, use the article elsewhere after publication without prior permission from Taylor & Francis, provided that acknowledgement is given to the Journal as the original source of publication, and that Taylor & Francis is notified so that our records show that its use is properly authorised.
