Instructions for Authors

Articles to be considered for publication should be between 6000 and 8000 words and include an abstract of between 150 and 200 words, up to six keywords, and a bibliography. Tables and figures should each be treated as the equivalent of 225 words.

Submission: Manuscripts should be sent as an MSWord email attachment to editor@ejhp-online.eu.

Presentation: Documents should be formatted in double line spacing with ample margins and page numbers and should bear the title of the contribution. Footnotes to the text should be avoided wherever this is reasonably possible; where they are used, they should appear as end notes. For guidance about the presentation of tables, figures and references please see below. Full details of all authors should be provided on a separate first page which will be removed to ensure anonymity during peer review. The full postal address, telephone number and email address of the author who will check proofs and receive correspondence and offprints should be included.

The Review Section includes reviews of books, reports and major policy documents and developments. Reviews of publications (about 1000 words) may be of a single publication, or two or more related publications. Review articles are also welcome. They may be 4000-6000 words in length and they are subject to a double blind review procedure. Reviews, articles and books from publishers should be sent to the Review Editors: Roland Goetgeluk and Richard Ronald, OTB Research Institute for Housing, Urban and Mobility Studies at Delft University of Technology; e-mail: ejhp@otb.tudelft.nl.

Tables and figures should not be inserted into the text but provided as a separate file. Their approximate location should be indicated in the manuscript. Refer to all tables as Tables and number consequtively. All other illustrations (maps, charts, diagrams, photographs, etc.) should be referred to as Figures and numbered consecutively. Tables and figures should include short, informative captions and, where appropriate, keys to symbols. All captions should be gathered onto a separate page at the end of the document.

References. These should be indicated in the typescript by giving the author's name and the year of publication, as follows: Weaver (1978) or (Weaver, 1978). If several papers by the same author and from the same year are cited, a, b, c, etc. should be put after the year of publication. The references should be listed in full at the end of the paper in the following standard form:

Hegedus, J. and Tosics, I. (1996) Hungary, in P. Balchin (ed.) Housing Policy in Europe. London: Routledge.

Kemeny, J. and Lowe, S. (1998) Schools of comparative housing research: from convergence to divergence, Housing Studies 13(2),pp. 161-176.

Kleinman, M., Matznetter, W. & Stephens, M. (Eds) (1998) European Integration and Housing Policy (London: Routledge).

Titles of journals should not be abbreviated.

Proofs. Corrections should be clearly identified and returned to the publishers within three days. Major alterations to the text cannot be accepted.

Free article access. Corresponding authors will receive free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article.
