Aims and Scope. The mission of the Journal of International Wildlife Law and Policy, produced in conjunction with the Stetson University College of Law, is to address legal and political issues concerning the human race' interrelationship with and management of wildlife species, their habitats, and the biosphere. This includes analysis of the efficacy of international and regional wildlife treaty regimes, as well as national legislation and regulations, the impact of judicial decisions at both the national and international level, and the interface of legal and political institutions with other sectors in society that have a substantive impact on the management and conservation of species and ecosystems.

Affiliation. On the title page, include full names of authors, academic and/or other professional affiliations, and the complete address, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address of the author to whom proofs and correspondence should be sent.

Rules of Citation. Footnotes should be single-spaced, numbered sequentially throughout the text, and, preferably, should appear at the bottom of the page. The format of footnotes should comply with The Harvard Law Review Association's The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (17th ed. 2000).

The Journal of International Wildlife Law & Policy has an international circulation; authors are therefore encouraged to ensure that the context of laws and policies are clearly explained (in footnotes, if appropriate) to readers who may be unfamiliar with the details of particular national systems.

Illustrations. Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:

  • 300 dpi or higher
  • sized to fit on journal page
  • EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
  • submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files

Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in their printing and publication. Good-quality color prints or files should be provided in their final size. The publisher has the right to refuse publication of color prints deemed unacceptable. Be sure that every figure has a brief descriptive legend and that every table has a concise title.

Tables and Figures. Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included.

Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet. All original figures should be clearly marked in pencil on the reverse side with the number, author's name, and top edge indicated.

Page Proofs. All proofs must be corrected and returned to the publisher within 48 hours of receipt. If the manuscript is not returned within the allotted time, the editor will proofread the article and it will be printed per his instruction. Only correction of typographical errors is permitted.
