Critical Review of International Social and Political Philosophy
Instructions for Authors
CRISPP accepts articles from any branch of social and political philosophy that are accessibly written and concerned with the overlap between theory and practice. CRISPP focuses on individual thinkers, particular social and political concepts, such as power, equality, sovereignty and liberty, and various schools of thought, such as republicanism, liberalism and nationalism. In each case, particular regard is paid to the practical policy implications of the theories or ideas concerned. It also covers the theoretical assumptions and implications of such policy issues and socio-political-legal processes as democratisation, multiculturalism, environmental protection, development aid, European Union, judicial legislation, globalisation and social stratification. As well as articles, CRISPP also publishes special issues, reviews, survey articles and shorter research notes on these topics.
Articles submitted for the journal should be original contributions and should not be under consideration for any other publication at the same time. Exceptions to this rule should be clearly indicated at the time of submission.
Copyright. It is a condition of publication that authors vest or license copyright in their articles, including abstracts, in Taylor & Francis Group Ltd. This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and the journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Authors may, of course, use the material elsewhere after publication providing that prior permission is obtained from Taylor & Francis. Authors are themselves responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyright material from other sources. Authors are asked to present articles according to the following directions. Articles will not be published unless they comply with these guidelines.
2. There is no standard length for articles but 6-10,000 words (including notes and references) is a useful guide. CRISPP also publishes shorter research notes of 3-4000 words. Authors should inform the editors of the exact length at the time of submission.
3. The manuscript should be double-spaced throughout.
4. The author(s)'s name(s) should appear on the first page, centred below the title. A footnote should be appended to each name giving contact details, including the full snail mail and e mail addresses.
5. Acknowledgements, if any, should be made in a special section headed Acknowledgements, in bold and centred, at the end of the text and before any end notes.
6. An abstract or summary of the article of 100-150 words should be provided along with three or four key words. The abstract should be centred and appear below the author(s)'s name and before the start of the main text.
7. All authors should include a brief (50-75 word) biography. This should be in a separate file and give the author's position and institutional affiliation and details of recent publications.
8. Technical matter should be kept to a minimum. Equations, symbols or Greek letters must be clear for the typesetters.
9. No updating or additions can be guaranteed at proof stage. Once the article is accepted, authors must be careful to submit only the final version of their article, checked for style, content and the spelling of proper names, and with all endnotes, headings and artwork included. Any items not submitted electronically should be presented on good white paper with no markings.
