Ethics, Place & Environment is an international and multidisciplinary journal publishing research, scholarship and debate on all aspects of geographical and environmental ethics.

Papers for the main section of the journal should normally be fewer than 8,000 words in length and should include an abstract of fewer than 100 words. Shorter notes and comments should be restricted to a maximum of 2,000 words. Book and media reviews range from 500 to 2,000 words, while review essays should be fewer than 4,000 words. Spellings in either UK or US English are acceptable.

All material should be typed on standard paper and should be double-spaced. Papers should not contain references that identify the author. Please list on a separate page the name(s), address(es), and email address(es) of the author(s), as well as the paper's title.

Emailed submissions are preferred. Please send an email to the address above and attach your paper and title page as word documents.

References should be listed at the end of the manuscript, should be given in as full a form as possible, using first names of authors where used in the original, and adopting the following format:

Harvey, David (1996) Justice, Nature and the Geography of Difference, Oxford: Blackwell
Habermas, J. (1983) Modernity: an incomplete project, in: Foster, H. (ed.) The Anti-aesthetics: Essays on Postmodern Culture, Seattle: Bay Press 3-15
Curry, M. (1991) On the possibility of ethics in geography: writing, citing and the construction of intellectual property, Progress in Human Geography, 15, 125-147.

Titles of journals should not be abbreviated. Footnotes should be kept to an absolute minimum, but where used they should be indicated by superscript numbers in the text.

Illustrations. All maps, diagrams, charts and photographs should be referred to as Figures, and should be numbered in consecutive order using Arabic numerals. Artwork must be submitted in suitable condition for publication, in black on good quality white paper. Captions for Figures should be typed in numerical order and should be presented separately from the text. All Tables should be presented in finished form, typed and ruled, with dimensions no larger than an A4 page. They should be numbered using Arabic numerals.

Equal Opportunities and Refereeing. The Editorial Board supports a policy of equal opportunities and opposes both direct and indirect discrimination. Its editorial actions with respect to material submitted to the journal will seek to reflect this policy. All articles published in this journal undergo rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing.

Proofs will be sent to the first mentioned author of each article accepted for publication, if there is sufficient time to do so. They should be corrected and returned to the publisher within three days. Major alterations or revisions cannot be accepted.

Free article access: Corresponding authors will receive free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article.
