Instructions for Authors

Submission of Manuscripts
The Editors welcome submission of articles, chronicles and commentaries. Articles should be approximately 3000-7000 words in length; chronicles should not be longer than 4000 words; and commentaries, to be published in the Debate section, no longer than 2000 words. Proposals of topics for review essays are also welcome. Material may be submitted in Spanish or Portuguese; in this case authors may be asked to produce a translation into English.

All quotations should be translated into English, except where the original language is of particular textual importance, in which case an English translation should be given immediately afterwards, in ordinary parentheses if part of the main text and without parentheses if separated from the main text.

Manuscripts should be sent to jlacs@kcl.ac.uk. They should be double-spaced, and accompanied by an abstract of 100-150 words and a brief statement for Notes on Contributors. Please include the full postal and e-mail addresses of the author who will check proofs and receive correspondence and offprints.

Manuscripts can also be sent by post to: The Editors, Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies, Department of Spanish and Spanish-American Studies, King's College, Strand, London WC2R 2LS, UK. In this case, please also include a disk with your article and make sure your contact address information is clearly visible on the outside of all packages you are sending to Editors.

References should be indicated in the text by a superior numeral, and listed at the end of the manuscript on a separate sheet, as follows:

For books: Andermann, Jens. 2000. Mapas de poder. Arqueología del espacio argentino. Rosario: Beatriz Viterbo.

For articles in books: Poucel, Benjamin. 1863. Agustina Palacio de Libarona. In La vuelta del mundo. Colección de los viajes hechos en las cinco partes del universo durante el siglo XIX, edited by M. Eduardo Charton, 3 vols. Paris.

For articles: Cortés Conde, Roberto. 1968. Algunos rasgos de la expansión territorial en Argentina en la degunda mitad del siglo XIX. Desarrollo económico 8(29): 3-30.

If further guidance is required, please refer to Chicago Manual of Style 15th edition.

Proofs will be sent to authors if there is sufficient time to do so. They should be returned within 3 days.

Free article access: Corresponding authors will receive free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article. Reprints of articles published in this journal can be purchased through Rightslink® when proofs are received. If you have any queries, please contact our reprints department at reprints@tandf.co.uk
