please make sure your contact address information is clearly visible on the outside of all packages you are sending to Editors.  Manuscripts can be submitted as e-mail attachments.

Manuscripts should be typed, double spaced, with ample margins. A separate sheet should bear the title of the contribution and name(s) of the author(s). The full postal address, together with the e-mail address (and fax number if available) of the author who will check proofs and receive correspondence and offprints should also be included. All pages should be numbered.

Contributions should not normally be more than 7000 words in length, while shorter manuscripts of between 2000 and 4000 words are also welcomed. They should also include an abstract of 100 words.
Authors should send the final, revised version of their articles in hard copy paper and in electronic form. It is essential that the hard copy (paper) version exactly matches the electronically submitted material.

Tables and captions to illustrations.
Tables must be typed on separate sheets and not included as part of the text. The captions to illustrations should be gathered together and also typed out on a separate sheet. Tables and figures should be numbered by Arabic numerals. The approximate position of tables and figures should be indicated in the manuscript. Captions should include keys to symbols.

Figures. Artwork must be submitted in suitable condition for publication.

References. These should be indicated in the typescript by giving the author's name and the year of publication, as follows: Smith (1996) or (Smith, 1996). If several papers by the same author and from the same year are cited, a,b,c, etc., should be put after the year of publication. The references should be listed in full at the end of the paper in the following standard form:

Crampton, G. (1996) Local government structure and urban residential location, Urban Studies, 33(7), pp. 1061-1076.

S. Watson & K. Gibson (Eds) (1994) Postmodern Cities and Spaces. Oxford: Blackwell.

Brownill, S. (1993) The Docklands experience: locality and community in London, in: R. Imrie & H. Thomas (Eds) British Urban Policy and Urban Development Corporations, pp. 44-52. London: Paul Chapman Publishing.

Titles of journals should not be abbreviated.

Proofs. These will be sent to authors in PDF via e-mail if there is sufficient time to do so. Corrections should be clearly identified and returned within three working days of receipt. Major alterations cannot be accepted.

Free article access: Corresponding authors can receive 50 free reprints, free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article. Complimentary reprints are available through Rightslink® and additional reprints can be ordered through Rightslink® when proofs are received. Book Reviews should be sent to Dr Rhys Jones, Department of Geography and Earth Sciences, The University of Wales, Aberystwyth, Llandinam Building, Penglais Campus, Aberystwyth, Ceredigion SY23 3DB, Wales, UK. Only one copy need be submitted. The heading should include the title, author, date, location, publisher, number of pages and price, as in the following example:

Local Government in Eastern Europe, Andrew Coulson (Ed.), 1995, Aldershot, Edward Elgar, 291pp., £49.95 hard back.

Copyright. It is a condition of publication that authors assign copyright or licence the publication rights in their articles, including abstracts, to Taylor & Francis.  This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the Journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate.  Authors retain many rights under the Taylor & Francis rights policies, which can be found at www.informaworld.com/authors_journals_copyright_position.  Authors are themselves responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyright material from other sources.
