Submission of Manuscripts

All submissions should be made online at the Journal of Economic Methodology's Manuscript Central Site. New users should first create an account. Once a user is logged onto the site submissions should be made via the Author Centre.

Authors should prepare and upload two versions of their manuscript. One should be a complete text, while in the second all document information identifying the author should be removed from files to allow them to be sent anonymously to referees. When uploading files authors will then be able to define the non-anonymous version as "Files not for review".

Submission should be in English typed in double spacing (including all notes and references). Submission of a paper to the journal will be taken to imply that it presents original, unpublished work not under consideration for publication elsewhere. By submitting a manuscript, the authors agree that the exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the article have been given to the Publishers, including reprints, photographic reproductions, microfilm, or any other reproductions of a similar nature, and translations.

Permission to quote from or to reproduce copyright material in their article must be obtained by the authors before submission and acknowledgements given in a section at the end of the paper before the Notes or, in the case of illustrations, in the captions.

An abstract of the paper, of no more than 150 words, should accompany the article. Also please supply six key words suitable for on-line searching purposes.

Articles should not normally exceed 8,000 words in length. If possible, please state your word-count at the end of the text, together with the date of the manuscript.

Notes should be kept to a minimum and placed at the end of the article before the references; footnotes should be avoided. A brief biographical note about each author should be supplied on a separate sheet. Details should also be given of authors' full postal and E-mail addresses as well as telephone and fax numbers.

Illustrations
Tables and figures should not be inserted within the pages of the manuscript but included on separate files placed at the end of the article. The desired position for each table and figure should be indicated in the margin of the text.

Tables should be prepared with the minimum use of horizontal rules (usually three are sufficient) and avoiding vertical rules Photographs should be high-contrast black and white glossy images.

All captions for figures (including sources and acknowledgements) should be listed on a separate page.

Copyright. It is a condition of publication that authors assign copyright or license the publication rights in their articles, including abstracts, to Taylor & Francis. This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the Journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Authors may, of course, use the article elsewhere after publication without prior permission from Taylor & Francis, provided that acknowledgement is given to the Journal as original source of publication, and that Taylor & Francis is notified so that our records show that its use is properly authorised. Authors are themselves responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyright material from other sources.

Proofs
Authors are expected to correct proofs quickly and any alteration to the original text is strongly discouraged. Authors should correct typesetters' errors in red; minimal alterations of their own should be in black.
