Instructions for Authors
***Note to Authors: please make sure your contact address information is clearly visible on the outside of all packages you are sending to Editors.***
Submission:
The editorial board of the Asia-Pacific Review invites authors to submit manuscripts that address political, economic, security and environmental issues in the Asia-Pacific region. Manuscripts, including footnotes, should not exceed 10,000 words and should be double-spaced, with footnotes placed at the end of the document. Footnotes should be done according to the Chicago Manual of Style. Acronyms should be spelled in full when used for the first time. Submission to other journals must be indicated. Manuscripts cannot be returned. Authors who submit manuscripts will be notified of the board's decision as soon as possible. Manuscripts and all correspondence concerning editorial matters should be addressed to: Terri Nii, Editor, Asia-Pacific Review, Institute for International Policy Studies Toranomon 30 Mori Building 6F Toranomon 3-2-2, Minato-ku Tokyo 105-0001 Japan. Tel: +81-3-5404-6658; Fax: +81-3-5404-6650.
E-mail: editor@iips.org
Authors should send the final, revised version of their articles in both hard copy paper and electronic disk forms. It is essential that the hard copy (paper) version exactly matches the material on disk. Please print out the hard copy from the disk you are sending. Submit three printed copies of the final version with the disk to the journal's editorial office. Save all files on a standard 3.5 inch high-density disk. We can accept disks on DOS or Macintosh-readable 3.5 inch floppy disk. Please specify which program you have used. Do not save your files as "text only" or "read only".
Figures:
Figures should be kept to a minimum and should be Macintosh-readable. We prefer figures to be saved in either TIFF (tagged image file format) or EPS (encapsulated postscript) formats. Good quality print-outs must be supplied for all figures and must be identical to the disk versions. Figure captions should also be saved in the same file as the figure. Photographs can be sent on disk, but the originals must also be supplied. Save all photographs as high-resolution images. If electronic versions are not available, please submit good quality original artwork that may be used for reproduction purposes.
Free article access: Corresponding authors can receive 50 free reprints, free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article. Complimentary reprints are available through Rightslink® and additional reprints can be ordered through Rightslink® when proofs are received. If you have any queries, please contact our reprints department at reprints@tandf.co.uk
Copyright:
It is a condition of the publication that authors vest or license copyright in their articles, including abstracts, in the Institute for International Policy Studies. This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article and the journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Authors may, of course, use the article elsewhere after publication without prior permission from Carfax, provided that acknowledgement is given to the journal as the original source of publication, and that Carfax is notified so that our records show that its use is properly authorised. Authors are themselves responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyright material from other sources.
