Instructions for Authors
***Note to Authors: please make sure your contact address information is clearly visible on the outside of all packages you are sending to Editors.***
International Public Management Journal (IPMJ) seeks to publish high-quality empirical and theoretical work on managing large organizations, particularly public organizations. We seek work from scholars around the world who conduct research in the areas of public management and reform, comparative public administration, organizational theory, organizational behavior, political science, economics, sociology, and social psychology and other disciplines. IPMJ seeks to provide a bridge between those conducting reasearch on public management and public administration on the one hand, and those working in the areas of organizational behavior and organization theory on the other. IPMJ intends to stimulate and reflect the academic interests of an international constituency of readers and scholars. Manuscripts are published in English and the editorial intent is to publish the work of authors from countries around the world. All articles published in IPMJ are double blind reviewed in accordance with standard academic journal procedures.
Submission of Manuscripts
IPMJ requests electronic submissions via the web at https://gemini.econ.umd.edu/ipmj. Submissions must be uploaded in PDF format. Submission information will be transmitted securely, and anonymity will be strictly maintained as your sumission is transmitted to referees. Moreover, PDF files will be automatically “cleansed” so that no identifying features will appear in the internal document metadata. Authors are responsible for making sure that author names or any other identifying information is removed from the text of the submitted article file. A separate title page should also be submitted. It should include full name of the authors, academic or professional affiliations, and the complete address (including e-mail address) of the person to whom proofs and correspondence should be sent. If you do not have internet access, please contact the Editor, Professor Steve Kelman, about your situation. He can be reached by mail at the Kennedy School of Government, 79 JFK Street, Cambridge, MA 02138, USA. Manuscripts will be accepted for review by the editors with the understanding that their content is unpublished and is not being submitted for publication elsewhere. Prior to final publication, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher.
Formatting
All materials must be typed (12-point, Times Roman font) and double-spaced on 8.5 x 11 inch white paper with 1¼-inch margins. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of no more that 150 words.
