Manuscript Submission

The Journal of Criminal Justice Education will consider only original manuscripts that have not been published previously or under consideration in other publications. Once an author has submitted a manuscript for consideration to the Journal of Criminal Justice Education, it is unethical to submit it for publication elsewhere.

The review process normally takes less than 12 weeks. Manuscripts should be in English, typed double-spaced, and should not exceed 30 pages, inclusive of the narrative, tables, references, appendices, and figures. The 30-page limit is not a rigid restriction, and will be waived in appropriate circumstances. Margins should be one inch on all sides. The manuscript should be accompanied by an abstract of 150 words, a title page, and a biographical information page (all provided in separate documents). The title page should include (a) the article title, all in capital letters, not exceeding 30 words; (b) the names of all authors including their academic ranks or position titles, organizational or academic affiliations, and the full mailing address of all authors, telephone numbers, fax numbers, and email addresses for all authors. Further, do not include authors' names on any other portion of the manuscript. Manuscripts should follow the APA format for headings and subheadings, citations, notes, and references.

Corresponding authors can receive 50 free reprints, free online access to their article through the publisher's website, and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article. Complimentary reprints are available through Rightslink and additional reprints can be ordered through Rightslink when proofs are received. Clearing Permissions

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission from copyright holders to reproduce in both print and online form those illustrations, tables, figures or lengthy quotations previously published elsewhere. Permission must be obtained before submission to the publisher. The acknowledgment should be added to the typescript and the source and copyright of photographs or figures credited in the accompanying captions.

Copyright

It is a condition of publication that authors vest or license copyright in their articles, including abstracts, in the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and the journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Authors may, of course, use the material elsewhere after publication providing that prior permission is obtained from Taylor & Francis Group Ltd.
