Award Winning Taylor & Francis Editors
Taylor & Francis are proud to announce that Professor David Sherrington FRS of the University of Oxford, and Editor of Advances in Physics, has been awarded the Institute of Physics Dirac Medal and prize for “his pioneering work on spin glasses, which has led to a better understanding of physical characteristics of glasses and how these disordered structures differ from regular crystals”.
The Dirac Medal was first awarded in 1987 and celebrates outstanding contributions to Theoretical Physics.
We are also very happy to announce that Professor Colin Carlile of the University of Lund, and Editor of the Journal of Neutron Research has won the Glazebrook Medal and Prize for “For his contributions to neutron science; in particular through his leadership of the Institut Laue-Langevin, the world's premier source of neutron beams for research.”
“The Glazebrook Medal, named after the first Director of the National Physical Laboratory, is awarded annually for outstanding contributions to the organisation, utilisation or application of science.”
