International Journal of Polymer Analysis and Characterization
Instructions for Authors
Aims and Scope. The IJPAC publishes original contributions, RESEARCH PAPERS, representing full length reports on experimental and/or theoretical aspects of instrumentation, methodologies, studies, and applications involving the analysis and characterization of polymers and polymer-based materials, as well as natural polymers and biopolymers. RESEARCH PAPERS must not exceed 15 printed pages (double spaced draft in WORD file) including the figures (usually ½ page is necessary for 1 figure) and tables. The experts are solicited to submit the REVIEWS covering the important, monothematic topic related to the analysis and characterization of polymers. Before submitting a review paper, the authors are asked to contact Editor-in-Chief to propose the topic and title of the intended review, its approximate length, and the estimated date of the submission. Such a preliminary agreement is necessary to avoid the delay of the publication. SHORT COMMUNICATIONS not exceeding 4 printed pages, including maximum one Figure, one Table, and References, will be published in the nearest issue of the IJPAC. The aim is to publish very rapidly the preliminary results of the original research representing important progress in the field of polymer analysis and characterization. Accelerated peer review procedure will take into account exclusively the compatibility of the communication with the scope of the IJPAC and the exceptional originality of the topic justifying rapid publication. On the other hand, the IJPAC will publish the casual LETTERS to the Editor (one page maximum) which can be addressed to the Editor-in-Chief and reacting critically to the published SHORT
Submission of Manuscripts: Manuscripts may be sent to the Editor-in-Chief, Josef Janca, by e-mail only: ijpac@ft.utb.cz . Authors are strongly encouraged to submit manuscript electronic files not exceeding 2 MB each using MS Word or WordPerfect. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material fromother sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher.
Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of not more than 100 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and references to the text.
Illustrations. Illustrations should be submitted as digital files and follow these guidelines:
-
300 dpi or higher
-
sized to fit on journal page
-
EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
-
submitted as separate files.
Tables and Figures. Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, in a separate file.
References. Identify references in the text by Arabic numerals in brackets, and number consecutively in the Reference Section in order of their first mention. References follow Chicago Manual of Style and should include: names of all contributing authors (last names first); title of article; title of journal (abbreviated according to Chemical Abstracts) or book; volume number; location and name of publishing company (books only); inclusive pages; year of publication. Examples:
Journal: [1] Bartlett, G. R. 1959. Phosphorus assay in column chromatography. J. Biol. Chem. 234:466–468.
Book: [2] Brown, M. E. 1988. Introduction to Thermal Analysis: Techniques and Applications. 1st ed., p. 211. New York: Chapman and Hall.

Proofs. The corresponding author will receive proofs, which should be proofread and returned within 48 hours of receipt. Corrections are limited to printer's errors - no substantial author's changes will be made.
Reprints. Reprints of an individual article are available at the time authors review page proofs. A discount is available to authors who order before print publication.
PDF. Each corresponding author of an article will receive a PDF file of the article via email. This file is for personal use only and may not be copied and disseminated in any form without prior written permission from Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
