Human Performance
Instructions for Authors
Aims & Scope
Human Performance publishes research on the nature of performance in the workplace and in applied settings, and encourages submission of papers that go beyond the study of traditional job behavior.
Submission of Manuscripts
Manuscripts should be submitted via the Journal's ScholarOne site at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/hhup. During the submission process, the author must supply information about the manuscript and the authors and complete certifications including publication status, ethical standards, conflict of interest, and copyright.
Preparation of Manuscripts
Manuscripts should be prepared according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (5th ed.). Manuscripts should be submitted in MS Word. All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. Submissions should include a title page that is clearly labeled with manuscript title and authors names and affiliations. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of not more than 125 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and reference to the text in the abstract.
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher. All submissions must comply with the APA ethical standards for the treatment of human or animal subjects. These guidelines are available from the American Psychological Association Ethics Office, 750 First Street, NE, Washington DC 20002-4242.
Tables, Figures, and Illustrations
Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet. All original figures should be clearly marked in pencil on the reverse side with the number, author's name, and top edge indicated. Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, etc.) should be digital files and should follow these guidelines:
- 300 dpi or higher
- sized to fit on journal page
- EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
