Instructions for Authors

iOpenAccess logoAims and Scope. Communications in Partial Differential Equations aims to publish high quality papers concerning any mathematical aspect of partial differential equations. Appropriateness of the topic of any article for this journal is subject to the discretion of the editors.

Submission of Manuscripts. Communications in Partial Differential Equations receives all manuscript submissions electronically via their Manuscript Central website located at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/LPDE. Manuscript Central allows for rapid submission of original and revised manuscripts, as well as facilitating the review process and internal communication between authors, editors and reviewers via a web-based platform. For Manuscript Central technical support, you may contact them by e-mail or phone support via http://mcv3support.custhelp.com/. The manuscript should be prepared in one of the standard versions of TeX, preferably Latex2e; the typeface size should be 10 pt., with margin size one inch on all sides. An abstract of no more than 100 words should be supplied. If the manuscript is accepted for publication, the TeX source file will eventually have to be submitted.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork and photographs become the property of the publisher.
References. Citations in the text are by author(s) and date in parentheses. Full citations should be arranged alphabetically double spaced and must conform to The Chicago Manual of Style, 14th ed.

Illustrations, Tables and Figures: For the TeX source file, tables and figures should be prepared with TeX and embedded in the text when possible. All other illustrations should be prepared at 300dpi or higher resolution and saved in EPS, TIFF or PSD format only.
 
Color Reproduction: Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in color art reproduction. Color art can be purchased for online only reproduction or for print + online reproduction. Color reprints can only be ordered if print + online reproduction costs are paid. Rates for color art reproduction are: Online Only Reproduction: $225 for the first page of color; $100 per page for the next three pages of color. A custom quote will be provided for articles with more than four pages of color. A maximum charge of $525 applies. Print + Online Reproduction: $900 for the first page of color; $450 per page for the next three pages of color. A custom quote will be provided for articles with more than four pages of color. Art not supplied at a minimum of 300 dpi will not be considered for print.
 
Page Proofs: Proofs will be e-mailed to authors when the issue in which the manuscript is to appear is being prepared. All proofs must be corrected and returned to the publisher in a timely fashion, according to instructions sent with them at that time. Authors will also be asked to fill out and submit copyright forms at this time.
 
Reprints: Each corresponding author of an article will receive a PDF file of the article via email.
