Instructions for Authors

***Note to Authors: please make sure your contact address information is clearly visible on the outside of all packages you are sending to Editors.***

Manuscripts should be sent to Anna Robinson-Pant (Compare Editor), Centre for Applied Research in Education (CARE), School of Education and  Lifelong Learning , University of East Anglia Norwich NR4 7TJ, Email: compare@uea.ac.uk . They should be typed on one side of the paper, double spaced, with ample margins . The article should be fully anonymised (and exclude acknowledgements if these would indicate the author's identity). It should be accompanied by a separate sheet bearing the title of the contribution, name(s) of the author(s) and the address where the work was carried out. The full postal address of the author who will check proofs and receive correspondence and offprints should also be included.   Each article should not be longer than 7000 words in total and should  include  a summary /abstract  of 100-150 words.  All pages should be numbered. Three copies of the manuscript are required.
 
Footnotes to the text should be avoided wherever this is reasonably possible.

Books for Review
should be addressed to Frances Hunt, Sussex School of Education, The Sussex Institute, Essex House, University of Sussex, Falmer, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 9QQ.
 
Tables and captions to illustrations. Tables must be typed out on separate sheets and not included as part of the text. The captions to illustrations should be gathered together and also typed out on a separate sheet. Tables and figures should be numbered by Arabic numerals. The approximate position of tables and figures should be indicated in the manuscript. Captions should include keys to symbols.
Figures. Please supply one set of artwork in a finished form, suitable for reproduction. If this is not possible, figures will be redrawn by the publishers.

UK spelling (e.g. colour, organise) and punctuation are preferred (single quotation marks with double within if needed).
