Conditions of Publication
All articles will be read by three editors and if deemed relevant and of a sufficient standard, they will be anonymously reviewed by at least two reviewers. Submission of a paper to Leisure Studies will be taken to imply that it presents original, unpublished work, not under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Manuscript Preparation
Articles should normally be between 4,000 and 7,000 words, accompanied by an abstract, which must not exceed 250 words, setting out the main findings of the article. Please also provide five or six keywords, preferably words that do not already appear in the title of the article. Shorter research notes of between 2,000 and 4,000 words are also acceptable. The manuscript submissions should be in English, typed in double spacing with a 4cm margin on the left-hand side. To ensure double-blind peer-review, there should be no information within the the text of the main paper that could identify the author.

Style
Sexist language should be avoided, and jargon or specialized language should be avoided where possible. Statistics are acceptable but must be explained in simple terms. Reference can be made to texts.
Footnotes
These should be kept to a minimum, numbered consecutively in the text and gathered at the end of the article immediately before the references.
Acceptance of manuscript
The editors reserves the right to return the manuscript if it is not submitted in the required format.
Artwork, Tables and Figures
These should not be inserted in the pages of the manuscript but should be separate files. The desired position in the text for each table, etc. should be indicated in the manuscript. Figures should be high resolution files, preferably EPS or TIFF formats, however we can also accept PICT or JPEG formats. The publisher will normally reproduce colour figures in black and white.
Acceptance Criteria
All articles will be read by three editors and if deemed relevant and of a sufficient standard, they will be anonymously reviewed by at least two reviewers. On the basis of the review process, editors will advise authors of the status of their manuscript and any revisions required. Manuscripts that fully meet the specified requirements will be accepted for publication.
Page proofs will be made available for correction electronically to the first-named author, unless otherwise requested. The difficulty and expense involved in making amendments at the page-proof stage make it essential for authors to prepare their typescripts carefully: any alterations to the original text are strongly discouraged.
Our aim is rapid publication: this will be helped if authors provide good copy, following the above instructions, and return their page proofs as quickly as possible.
Copyright
It is a condition of publication that authors assign copyright or licence the publication rights in their articles, including abstracts, to Taylor & Francis. This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the Journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Authors retain many other rights under the Taylor & Francis rights policies, which can be found at www.informaworld.com/authors_journals_copyright_position. Authors are themselves responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyright material from other sources.
Associated Costs for Authors
Leisure Studies does not usually assist authors with production costs associated with publication but is willing to consider these in exceptional circumstances. Please email the journal administrator if you wish to enquire.
Ordering Reprints/Offprints
Corresponding authors will receive free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com/RLST) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article. Reprints of articles published in this journal can be purchased through Rightslink® when proofs are received or alternatively on our journals website. If you have any queries, please contact our reprints department at reprints@tandf.co.uk .
