Instructions for Authors

Manuscripts
Papers should not exceed 6,000 words including notes and references. An electronic version of the paper, along with one hardcopy version, should be sent to Ursula McKenna, Warwick Religions and Education Research Unit, Institute of Education, University of Warwick, Coventry CV4 7AL, UK. An electronic version should be emailed to u.mckenna@warwick.ac.uk.

Papers should be typed on one side of A4 (or equivalent) sized paper, double-spaced, with ample margins, and bear the title of the contribution. In order to guarantee anonymous peer review the name(s) of the author(s) and the address where the work was carried out should only appear on a separate first page. Each article should be accompanied by an abstract/summary of 100-500 words and 3-4 keywords, also on a separate sheet. The full postal address of the author who will check proofs and receive correspondence and offprints should also be included. All pages should be numbered. Endnotes to the text should be avoided as far as possible. Authors should send the final, revised version of their articles in both hard copy paper and electronic forms. It is essential that the hard copy (paper) version exactly matches the material sent either on disk or by email attachment. Please print out the hard copy from the disk or file you are sending. Submit three printed copies of the final version with the disk/email attachment to the journal's editorial office. Save all files on a standard 3.5 inch high-density disk. We prefer to receive disks in Microsoft Word in a PC format. Please specify which program you have used. Do not save your files as "text only" or "read only." If sending by email attachment then please save as Microsoft Word.

***Note to Authors: please make sure your contact address information is clearly visible on the outside of all packages you are sending to Editors.***

Articles will be anonymously reviewed by at least two reviwers. Rejected manuscripts will not be returned unless sufficient stamps/international postal coupons have been sent.

Tables and captions to illustrations. Tables must be typed out on separate sheets and not included as part of the text. The captions to illustrations should be gathered together and also typed out on a separate sheet. Tables and figures should be numbered by Arabic numerals. The approximate position of tables and figures should be indicated in the manuscript. Captions should include keys to symbols.

Figures. Please supply one set of artwork in a finished form, suitable for reproduction. Figures will not normally be redrawn by the publisher.

Non-discriminatory writing. Articles should make no assumptions about the beliefs or commitments of any reader, should contain nothing which might imply that one individual is superior to another on the grounds of race, sex, culture or any other characteristic, and should use inclusive language throughout. Please ensure that writing is free from bias, for instance by replacing 'he' or 'his' by 'he or she' or 's/he' or 'his/her', and by using non-racist language.

We strongly encourage you to send the final, revised version of your article, electronically, by email. More help and guidelines on submitting articles already accepted for publication. Please note that this information applies only to authors whose articles have been reviewed, revised, and accepted for publication.

Proofs will be emailed to authors with full instructions, if there is sufficient time to do so. Corrections should be returned within 3 days. Major alterations to the text cannot be accepted.

Free article access: Corresponding authors can receive 50 free reprints, free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article. Complimentary reprints are available through Rightslink® and additional reprints can be ordered through Rightslink® when proofs are received. If you have any queries, please contact our reprints department at reprints@tandf.co.uk
