Society Information
The Regional Studies Association, the international forum for regional development policy and research (est. 1965), is an independent, international body concerned with urban and regional planning and development. It focuses on economic, environmental and social policy studies in a regional context. Members benefit from receipt of the Association's highly cited journal Regional Studies (9 issues p.a.), its new journal Spatial Economic Analysis (3 issues p.a.) and Regions (4 issues p.a.), the growing and active branch network and a varied range of Association meetings.
Recent and forthcoming meeting topics include: Transport, Mobility and Regional Development (London, UK, 2007); Regions In Focus? (Lisbon, Portugal, 2007); City Regions: Balancing Growth with Sustainability (Student Conference, Manchester, UK, 2007); Regions: The Dilemmas of Integration and Competition (Prague, 2008)
Membership is open to all and is based on the calendar year (individual membership £74; student membership: £35).
