Instructions for Authors

Contributors should bear in mind that they are addressing an international audience. Manuscripts that do not conform to the requirements listed below will not be considered for publication or returned to their authors. Submissions will be seen anonymously by two referees.

All submissions should be made online at the Journal of Educational Administration and History Manuscript Central site. New users should first create an account. Once a user is logged onto the site submissions should be made via the Author Centre.

Authors should prepare and upload two versions of their manuscript. One should be a complete text, while in the second all document information identifying the author should be removed from files to allow them to be sent anonymously to referees. When uploading files authors will then be able to define the non-anonymous version as “File not for review”.

Contributors should bear in mind that they are addressing an international audience. The Journal uses a footnote system of referencing and details about this with a web link are presented below in the “Style Guidelines” section of these Instructions. Manuscripts that do not conform to the requirements listed below will not be considered for publication and may be returned to their authors. Submissions will be seen anonymously by two referees.

Articles should be uploaded in text which is, double spaced, with ample margins, and bear the title of the contribution, name(s) of the author(s) and the address where the work was carried out. Each article will need to be accompanied by an abstract of 100-150 words. The full postal and e-mail address of the author who will check proofs and receive correspondence should also be included.

Proofs will be sent to authors if there is sufficient time to do so. They should be corrected and returned to Taylor & Francis within three days. Major alterations to the text cannot be accepted.

Articles submitted to Journal of Educational Administration and History should not be under consideration by any other journal, or have been published elsewhere, and the letter accompanying the submission of any manuscript should contain a clear statement to this effect.

Notes on tables and figures

1. Tables and figures should be valuable, relevant, and visually attractive. Tables and figures must be referred to in the text and numbered in order of their appearance. Each table and figure should have a complete, descriptive title; and each table column an appropriate heading.

Tables and figures should be referred to in text as follows: Figure 1, Table 1, i.e. 'As seen in Table [or Figure] 1 ...' (not Tab., fig. or Fig).

2. The place at which a table or figure is to be inserted in the printed text should be indicated clearly on the manuscript:

[Insert table 2 about here ]

3. Each table and/or figure must have a title that explains its purpose without reference to the text.

4. All figures and tables must be uploaded as a separate file and not embedded in the text. All figures should allow for reduction to page width (126 mm). Please avoid figures that would require landscape reproduction, i.e. reading from bottom to top of the page. All artwork will be reproduced in black and white.

Do not type the caption to a figure on that figure; the legends to any illustrations must be typed separately following the main text and should be uploaded together.

Acknowledgements
Any acknowledgements authors wish to make should be included in a separate headed section at the end of the manuscript. Please do not incorporate these into the notes.
