Platelets is an international, fully peer-reviewed journal covering all aspects of platelet-related research. The Journal publishes original articles, review articles and correspondence on blood platelets and platelet-related areas with a view to providing a focus for new information on all aspects of this important blood component.

Until now there has been no outlet specifically for work on platelets, and it has been necessary to monitor journals relating to several disciplines to keep up with progress on platelet behaviour, biochemistry, pharmacology, interaction with other cells in the blood vessel wall, and the contribution of platelets and platelet-derived products to health and disease. Platelets enables those who wish to keep up with research progress in both basic and clinical aspects of platelets to do so more easily.
