Instructions for Authors

ScholarOne Manuscripts
This journal uses ScholarOne Manuscripts (previously Manuscript Central) to peer review manuscript submissions. Please read the guide for ScholarOne authors before making a submission. Complete guidelines for preparing and submitting your manuscript to this journal are provided below.

All submissions should be made online at the Studia Theologica: Nordic Journal of Theology ScholarOne Manuscripts site.  New users should first create an account. Once a user is logged onto the site submissions should be made via the Author Centre.

Authors should prepare and upload two versions of their manuscript. One should be a complete text, while in the second all document information identifying the author should be removed from files to allow them to be sent anonymously to referees. When uploading files authors will then be able to define the non-anonymous version as “File not for review”, where the title page with author names and affiliations should be included.

1. The author's name and address should be placed at the end of the manuscript.

2. Be consistent. The same elements should be keyed in exactly the same way throughout the manuscript.

3. Do not break words at the end of lines. Use a hyphen only to hyphenate compound words.

4. Enter only one space after the full-stop at the end of a sentence.

5. Use italics to emphasize words.

6. Do not justify your text. Use a ragged right-hand margin.

7. Use a double hyphen (--) to represent a dash in the text.

8. Do not use lowercase 'l' for 1 (one) or the uppercase O for 0 (zero).

9. The space bar should only be used as a word separator. Use TAB when indenting paragraphs or separating columns in a table.

10. Save graphic elements (i.e. images ) as separate files (e.g. EPS- or TIFF-files). Originals of good quality can also be submitted by post.

11. The text itself should begin without any indentation. The same applies after headings.

12. The text of the article should contain, at most, one level of heading.

13. In the case of quotations of 4 lines or more, the whole text should be correspondingly indented 5 spaces from the left. A line should be left blank before and after the quotation.

14. Notes should be placed at the end of the article and not at the foot of the page. Note that references should take the following form a) Books: author, title (place of publication: publisher, year of publication), page(s). Subsequent references to the same work: author, abbreviated title, page(s). b) Articles in journals or in collections: author, "title", journal number (year), page(s). Abbreviations should be in accordance with the guidlines for TRE.

15. The articles should be from 12 to 14 printed pages in length. This corresponds to 35 000 to 40 000 characters.

16. Articles for publication should be sent to the editors both in the form of printed manuscript and on computer disc. The preferred word processing program is MS Word for Windows. In all other cases, the manuscript should be saved on disc in the form of an RTF file. Full details of the word processing program used should be provided separately in writing.

17. The manuscript should be written in English or German. Manuscripts for publication must be sent to the editors for copy editing and the checking of language.

18. The author is required to accept the publisher's (Taylor & Francis's) terms of copyright as set out in the form accompanying the guidelines. For further information, please turn to the Author Services website: http://journalauthors.tandf.co.uk/preparation/copyright.asp
