Instructions for Authors

The editorial board of Rethinking Marxism welcomes the submission of articles, shorter essays, reviews (of books and events), and visual art that relate to and expand the boundaries of Marxian discourses. In addition we encourage correspondence on material published in past issues; if comments are accepted for publication, we will make every effort to give the authors the opportunity to reply in the same issue.

Submissions to RM are refereed. They will be acknowledged upon receipt, and contributors usually receive the editorial board's decision within three months. We cannot consider any submissions currently under review with another journal.

Length

In general articles (including the globalisation series) should be no more than 7000 words, essays for the art/iculations series 1500-4500 words, Remarx essays 3000 words or less and reviews 500-1000 words.

Checklist

  • manuscript formatted in word
  • abstract
  • email address of corresponding author
For detailed information on preparing manuscripts for publication in RM, see Author Guidelines linked below.

Copyright.

It is a condition of publication that authors assign copyright or license the publication rights in their articles, including abstracts, the Association for Economic and Social Analysis. This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the Journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Authors may, of course, use the article elsewhere after publication without prior permission from Taylor & Francis, provided that acknowledgement is given to the Journal as original source of publication, and that Taylor & Francis is notified so that our records show that its use is properly authorised. Authors retain a number of other rights under the Taylor & Francis rights policies documents. These policies are referred to at http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/authorrights.pdf for full details. Authors are themselves responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyright material from other sources.

Clearing Permissions. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission from copyright holders for reproducing through any medium of communication those illustrations, tables, figures or lengthy quotations previously published elsewhere. Add your acknowledgements to the typescript, preferable in the form of an Acknowledgements section at the end of the paper.
