Instructions for Authors

NOTES ON THE SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS
  1. All papers for the Language and Intercultural Communication must be submitted via the journal's online submission and peer review site, which can be found at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/mm-laic
  2. If you have already refereed or submitted a paper for this journal, it is unlikely that you will already have an account. If not, you will need to create a user account before submitting your paper.
  3. Papers should be submitted as one file with, where possible, all tables and figures in the correct place in the text. More details on how to submit figures and tables that can not be incorporated in the text can be found on our website.
  4. The paper must not be under consideration by other journal or have been previously published.
  5. Papers should be the author's own original work and any material for which copyright is not held by the author should be acknowledged in the text. It is the author's responsibility to clear permission for copyright materials.
  6. Papers should not contain any material which is libellous, illegal or infringes anyone's copyright or other rights.
  7. Papers should not normally exceed 7000 words.
  8. When submitting a paper the author will be asked to provide two abstracts of not more that 100 words each, one in English and one in a language of the author's choice.
  9. The papers are blind refereed, so any textual references which would identify the author(s) to the referees must be avoided (any omitted material can be included later if the paper is accepted).
  10. Footnotes should be avoided. Essential notes should be numbered in the text and grouped together at the end of the article.
  11. References should be checked carefully for consistency with the text, and our style should be followed.
  12. Authors of papers accepted for publication will receive pdf proofs for correction. This stage should not be used for substantial revisions, and timely return of proof corrections is important.
