Aims and Scope
The International Journal of Human Resource Management is the forum for HRM scholars and professionals worldwide. Concerned with the expanding role of strategic human resource management in a fast-changing global environment, the journal focuses on future trends in human resource management, drawing on empirical research in the areas of strategic management, international business, organizational behaviour, personnel management and industrial relations that arise from:
- internationalization
- technological change
- market integration
- new concepts of line management
- increased competition
- changing corporate climates
Now publishing twelve issues per year, The International Journal of Human Resource Management encourages strategically focused articles on a wide range of issues including employee participation, human resource flow, reward systems and high commitment work systems. It is an essential publication in an exciting field, examining all management decisions that affect the relationship between an organization and its employees. Features include;

Notes for Contributors
Authors should submit three complete copies of their paper, with any original illustrations, to the Editor, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Cardiff Business School, Colum Drive, Cardiff CF1 3EU, or to a member of the Editorial Board. It will be assumed that the authors will keep a copy of their paper. Submission of a paper to the journal will be taken to imply that it presents original, unpublished work not under consideration for publication elsewhere. By submitting a manuscript, the authors agree that the exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the article have been given to the Publishers, including reprints, photographic reproduction, microfilm, or any other reproduction of a similar nature, and translations. Submissions should be in English, typed in double spacing with wide margins, on one side only of the paper, preferably of A4 size. The title, but not the authors name, should appear on the first page of the manuscript. The publishers encourage submission on disk; however, please ensure that the typescript is exactly the same as the version of the article on disk. Articles should normally be between 7,000 and 8,000 words in length. Tables and figures should not be inserted in the pages of the manuscript but should be on separate sheets. They should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals with a descriptive caption. The desired position in the text for each table and figure should be indicated in the margin of the manuscript. Permission to reproduce copyright material must be obtained by authors before submission and any acknowledgements should be included.
Direct quotations of 40 words or more should start on a separate line and be indented.
Footnotes should be used necessary to avoid interrupting the continuity of the text. They should be numbered consecutively using superscript Arabic numerals. They should appear at the end of the main text, immediately before the list of references.

Any consistent spelling style is acceptable. Use single quotation marks with double within if needed.

On acceptance for publication, authors will be requested to provide a copy of their paper in exact accordance with the conventions listed in the preceding notes. If the final version of the paper is not submitted in accordance with these conventions then publication may be delayed by the need to return manuscripts to authors for necessary revisions. Authors should note that, following acceptance for publication, they will be required to provide not only a hard copy of the final version, but also a copy on a virus-free disk, preferably in MS-Word 6 format, if possible. Authors will also be required to complete a Publishing Agreement form assigning copyright to the Publisher.
Page proofs will be sent for correction to a first-named author, unless otherwise requested. The difficulty and expense involved in making amendments at the page proof stage make it essential for authors to prepare their typescript carefully; any alteration to the original text is discouraged.
Free article access. Corresponding authors will receive free online access to their article through our website (www.informaworld.com) and a complimentary copy of the issue containing their article.
